Queen Maxima of The Netherlands has been discharged from hospital after cutting short a state visit to China earlier this last week because of a kidney infection, royal officials said today.
"Her Majesty Queen Maxima has been discharged from Bronovo Hospital in The Hague," the government's information service said.
"The doctor treating her is of the opinion that her health has improved sufficiently for her to recover at home," it added in a statement.
Dutch Queen Maxima got a kidney infection while on a state visit to China. She returned to The Netherlands and was admitted to hospital in the earlier hours on Wednesday morning.
The queen's hectic schedule will "calm down somewhat in the coming days" because of her illness, the RVD said.
